Amebix - Redux 2010

Recording of 3 classic Amebix songs

Arise
Winter
Chain Reaction

On paper i didn't think that i would like this, that the rough and ready sound would be lost in translation and end up too polished but i'm happy to say i was really impressed with the end results

His Hero Is Gone

Monuments To Thieves

His Hero Is Gone (often abbreviated HHIG) was an influential crust punk and sludge metal band from Memphis, Tennessee. Formed in 1995 from members of Copout, Man With Guns Lives Here and FaceDown. They disbanded in 1999, playing their last show in Memphis. They toured the U.S. extensively several times, as well as Europe and Japan. They released a total of 6 records: Fifteen Counts of Arson and split EP with Union of Uranus (limited edition of 1,000), which was the last recording completed with original band member Pat Davis. Monuments to Thieves debut of new guitarist Yannick Lorraine formerly of Union of Uranus from Canada, The Plot Sickens, and two 7” EPs The Dead of Night in Eight Movements and Fool’s Gold as well as a 1995 demo tape entitled Medicine of Thieves. Simultaenously or afterwards band members played in the bands Deathreat, Call The Police, Dimlaia, Warcry, Union of Uranus and many more. The core of the band, Todd Burdette, Paul Burdette and Yannick Lorraine went on to form the hardcore punk band Tragedy. His Hero is Gone was characterized by heavily distorted “thick sounding” guitars, lyrics featuring social commentary much of which include anti-consumerist themes. The band and related projects have remained under the radar of a mainstream audience by not promoting themselves via tools of mass communication such as websites or larger music labels.

Born Dead

Our Darkest Fears Now Haunt Us

Born/Dead is a dark, anarchist hardcore punk band that formed in late 2000 in Oakland, California with the rhythm Section, Bill Jackson and Wyatt Culbertson of the Long-time East Bay Punk band Chemical Imbalance and the guitarist from the short lived Santa Cruz, California band No Options. Born/Dead’s sound and lyrics are influenced by classic American Hardcore punk, UK peace punk and political Punk bands such as Crucifix and Aus-Rotten. In 2001 after mercilessly gigging in the San Francisco Bay Area, the band released their debut 5-song 7” EP “24 Hostages” as the first release on the Guitarists No Options record label which sold briskly leading the band to begin work on a full length record.

With initial tracks recorded, the band approached long time bay area crust and hardcore punk label, Prank Records who had released records by His Hero Is Gone, Guyana Punch Line, Antischism, Damad and others to do the record. The Nine-Song “Our Darkest Fears Now Haunt Us” was released in 2003 on LP/CD and featured a heavier sound than the debut. The LP’s release lead the band to its first major U.S. tour, followed quickly by a tour of Europe. Returning from Europe, the band recorded a side of a split LP with European tour mates Consume that was released on Germany’s Yellow Dog Records.

Revolting

Dreadful Pleasures album

REVOLTING is the new band from Rogga Johansson(Paganizer, Ribspreader) which is dedicated to the absolute worship of late 80’s Death Metal (Carnage, Grave) and HORROR/GORE films from the 1980’s!

Teaming up with Razorback Records, the label known for their obsession with oldschool metal and horror, the name REVOLTING was chosen by Billy “Grossera” Nocera to reflect the gross, nasty, gory, and insane horror films from the 80’s such as STREET TRASH, THE BLOB, REDNECK ZOMBIES, and other mutant gross-out fests that make life worth living!
