Sea Of Deprivation

Sea Of Deprivation - Catharsis In Disharmony

http://www.mediafire.com/?frjzjx69n962zhq

I only heard this album for the first time this week but I think it is excellent. I guess in a way they sound like a complete rip of Dystopia with the vocal styles, guitar and bleak as fuck lyrics. However, seeing how it is a few years since Dystopia have put anything out and are disbanded this was for me, great to hear as a follow up to Dystopia’s releases. Sure they are a complete take on Dystopia but they have enough unique and new touches to keep me listening to and enjoying this release. I’m gonna take this as a nod to a unique band as opposed to a blatent rip off.

Iron Hand

Masked and fucked-up crustjunkies from Suomi-Finland. No hi-hit, blastbeats or fancy drumming. D-beat ONLY! Short insane tracks with crust´n roll guitars and one vocalist that will scream his brains out. Perpare for the crustattack of the year at OEF 2007! Tinner comes from the swedishspeaking island of Aland in the Baltic Sea. The last song on this LP is an excellent cover of heroindod by Anticimex.

Fithpact - P.C.O.T.C.A

Total crust violence from these aberdeen grinders. The band i play in had the pleasure to support these on a leg of their recent Irish tour. Thanks to the lads for an excellent show and amusing everyone with their loaded Scottish antics.

An island of noise in an island of silence - tape

A great release from my mate's band. An absolute wall of noise recorded with all of the charm and raw sound of a 4 track. For fans of disorder and gloom.

Dresden - Final Hour

The first full length album from the latest addition to the Wisconsin crust punk pantheon. Dresden play a powerful mixture of D-beat hardcore and powerful punk containing members of bands Wartorn, Despite, and Remission to name a few. One of the catchiest things i have listened to in a while with some really impressive vocal work.

Rational Animals - Distorted Temptations

Hailing from Rochester, NY. Rational Animals formed in 2006 and play some rocking hardcore riffs.

Aglio e Olio

Excellent hardcore release from the Beastie Boys. I really wish they would put out another record like this. The EP was released after the band realized that they had written too many hardcore punk songs for their next record. Michael "Mike D" Diamond later said, "When we first started working on Hello Nasty in New York, Awol [Amery Smith] was around helping us get set up. Along with the usual bunch of experimental jamming/sampling etc., we started playing a bunch of hardcore, putting song arrangements together really quickly. Then I started writing vocals. Soon we realized that we had way too many hardcore songs to possibly put on the next album, so we decided to release them all together as an EP."

The 4 Skins

The 4 Skins

The good, the bad and the 4 skins album.

The 4-Skins were a working class oi punk rock band from East London, England, formed in 1979 and disbanded in 1984, although a new line-up has formed in 2007. The new line-up includes Gary Hodges, the original lead singer (until 1981). Simpler and perhaps better days for oi punk. This is their second album from 1982.

Monday, July 18, 2011

New release from Singapore's heroes of grindcore - Wormrot. Wormrot formed in 2007, immediately after the founding members completed their mandatory two years of national service. The band was discovered in late December 2009 by Digby Pearson, the owner of record label earache, in a mixtrape posted on the Invisible Oranges blog. Dirge is their second album.

Systemfucker

Heavily influened by Shitlickers and Disclose. This is a fairly raw recording which can at be a tad hard to make out what is coming and what is going in this release and i questioned whether it was possible to even listen to this release but after a few listens it really grew on me. It all adds to the raw charm and chaos of this release.

-Vad vet vi om kriget

-Killed by the kids

-Aborted Teen generation

Resist

Resistography. I was looking for this for ages before i found a copy. Actually even anything by them i had found really hard to get a hold of but it was worth the wait to get my hands on it. Resist was an anarchopunk band from Portland Oregon who called it a day in 1994 they were one of the new wave of anarcho bands to come out in the 80's and got back together for a reunion show in 2007 and have been together since then. The members went on to bands like defiance, severed heads of state and detestation. For fans of Aus Rotten.

Pine Barrens

Demo from the UK's Pine Barrens. The wife's band http://drainland.bandcamp.com/ played with these on their recent tour. Black Metal influenced raging crust. G'lads.

Slices

Self titled 7"

The second band shown to me by the wife. Due to my semi-irrational prejudice for a lot of hardcore there’s not much new stuff I’d listen to. I stick with what I know and I’m usually happy with this arrangement. However, this is a great 7” here of hardcore/noise. I can quote Slices as being described as “One of the hottest stinger-punk bands today”. Whatever that means.

SQRM

There's very little hardcore the past few years that really jumped out at me, but there are two records i have been listening to a lot of late, this one being the first. The wife with his preference for hardcore put me on to this band. Hailing from Massachusetts with a fantastic down tuned assault. Good call wife.

Oi Polloi

Singles collection 91 - 97

Oi Polloi are an anarcho-punk band hailing from Scotland that formed around 1981. Starting as an oi! band, they are generally associated more with the anarcho-punk sceneThe band holds a political view which some call ultra-hardline ecologism, with the motto “No compromise in defence of our earth”. They support direct action in defence of the environment, and endorse resistance against racialism, fascism and imperialism.

Acephalix

Came across this band while i was checking out Southern Lord Records band roster. My mates band 'Drainland' had signed to the same label recently and these were one of the better bands i came across. A brutal combination of low end metallic distortion, pummeling riffs and raw vocals.

Auktion

D-beat rock and roll mayhem album

D-beat rock ‘n’ roll hardcore punk mayhem with fierce screaming vocals from Umeå, Sweden. Really catchy stuff, this is a gem of an album thats saturated with rock n' roll influence.

Moneyless Mark documentary

Great audio documentary released by RTE radio one

31 year old Donegal man Mark Boyle has been living completely without money for over two years - by choice.

This former economics and business student has spent the last ten years gradually becoming less and less of a consumer.

In November 2008, after much thought on the subject of money and the money-system, Mark completely stopped spending or receiving any money at all - initially as a one year experiment to see if he could do it.

Now Mark lives outside the city of Bath in a small converted truck that is parked on an organic farm, where he does work growing vegetables in exchange for being allowed to live there. He heats himself with a small stove - made from an old converted gas bottle and pieces of an old bicycle welded together.

He washes himself and his clothes in the river. He grows his own vegetables and forages for wild food - nettles are a favourite staple. Sometimes - though it is his least preferred method of finding food - he finds food in the skips that are full of food thrown away every day by shops.

Mark is also the founder of the 'Freeconomy' - a website that allows users to provide services to each other, in exchange for absolutely nothing.

His next project is the Moneyless Village in which seven more people are going to join Mark in the moneyless lifestyle.

An experiment that was supposed to last one year has turned into a lifepath and Mark says that, without money, he has never been happier.

The Documentary on One finds out what made him make such a radical lifestyle choice, why he wants to keep on doing it - and how he does it.

Divisions Ruin

Divisions Ruin - Compilation

This just a small compilation of songs i put together from various releases (Demo, 7 inch, 4 way split & split with Easpa Measa) from the late/great Divisions Ruin that i found scattered around my computer. Crust punk from Dublin. Thinking back on this band i have only the fondest of memories. They started out about a year after i had first moved to Dublin and are now broken up about one year. The band that i have seen the most in my life and i cant stress how amazing, raw and relentless their live shows were. RIP Divisions Ruin and thanks for all the memories

Dishammer

Under the sign of the D-beat mark 12"

crust, black metal, d-beat, thrash?

All of the above is the most reasonable answer There's a lot going on in this release and each track stands out in its own right due to each song drawing a different amount of inspiration from a range of influences that leaves us with a release that summed up best, sounds like "a fight between Discharge and Hellhammer with Motorhead and Bathory being played in the background".

Disrupt

Unrest

Boston based crust/grind band that has deservedly earned a cult following. Disrupt is an American crust band from Lynn, Massachusetts that fused anarcho elements with graind. Although they only released one album (Unrest), the band acquired quite a following on the strength of several 7-inch EPs and compilation appearances.

Wintercult

i'd rarely listen to black metal. Its something that enough of the time doesn't click with me and i end up appreciating it from afar but every once in a while i find something that really impresses me which is the case with this one man project from russia. Depressive as it is ambient

Hellshock

They wait for you still. Probably my favourite release by Hellshock. Totally relentless and more imaginative and technical than the majority of stuff in the same vein.

Hellshock is a Crust Punk band from Portland, Oregon that was formed in 2000. They combine their own brand of Crust Punk with Hardcore Punk, and Thrash Metal. Lyrically, the band writes almost exclusively about war. The five-piece has ex-members of Remains of the Day, Atrocious Madness, From Ashes Rise, and Detestation.

Brainbombs

Urge to kill EP

Brainbombs are a noise rock group from Hudiksvall, Sweden formed around 1986. The band consists of Dan Råberg, Peter Råberg, Jonas Tiljander, Drajan Bryngelsson and Lanchy Orre. Drajan and Lanchy also play in the punk band Totalitär. In 1986 Brainbombs appeared on two underground compilation albums, “Unveiled” on Mechanik Cassettes and “In the Shadow of Death” on Cold Meat Industries. Soon after they released their first single “Jack the Ripper Lover”. Between 1986 and 1992 they had a few more singles and compilation appearances before releasing their first full-length album “Burning Hell” on Big Ball Records. Throughout the 90s they released three more albums: “Obey”, “Genius and Brutality… Taste and Power” and “Urge to Kill”, as well as some more singles and EPs. In the 2000s they continued releasing singles but didn’t release another full-length record until 2008’s “Fucking Mess”. Most recently they have released another single titled “Substitute for Flesh”. Brainbombs have been infamous not only for their abrasive music but their extremely explicit lyrics, depicting rape, murder and child molestation among other things. Despite only being able to produce limited releases and do small tours, Brainbombs have been continuously active since their formation in 1986

Nux Vomica

A civilized world

Portland-by-way-of-Baltimore experimental crust punks Nux Vomica may have released the best record you didn’t hear last year. Asleep in the Ashes (Aborted Society) is a masterfully chaotic collection of melodic death metal, sludge, crust punk, black metal, post-rock and bone-crushing doom, and is one of the few truly unique records I’ve been lucky enough to hear in the past few years. Nux Vomica are a very special band

Enewetak

Guns, Elvis loved them album

Band from orange county USA. In the same vein as Dystopia. . In 1995, the band recorded and released a self-titled seven inch record on Revolutionary Power Tools Records. The following year, Enewetak's first full length album, And The Beat Goes On, was released on the same label.

Enewetak later recorded additional seven inch records (including a split with Unruh) and two more full length albums. Guns. His Hero Is Gone

Monuments To Thieves

His Hero Is Gone (often abbreviated HHIG) was an influential crust punk and sludge metal band from Memphis, Tennessee. Formed in 1995 from members of Copout, Man With Guns Lives Here and FaceDown. They disbanded in 1999, playing their last show in Memphis. They toured the U.S. extensively several times, as well as Europe and Japan. They released a total of 6 records: Fifteen Counts of Arson and split EP with Union of Uranus (limited edition of 1,000), which was the last recording completed with original band member Pat Davis. Monuments to Thieves debut of new guitarist Yannick Lorraine formerly of Union of Uranus from Canada, The Plot Sickens, and two 7” EPs The Dead of Night in Eight Movements and Fool’s Gold as well as a 1995 demo tape entitled Medicine of Thieves. Simultaenously or afterwards band members played in the bands Deathreat, Call The Police, Dimlaia, Warcry, Union of Uranus and many more. The core of the band, Todd Burdette, Paul Burdette and Yannick Lorraine went on to form the hardcore punk band Tragedy. The band and related projects have remained under the radar of a mainstream audience by not promoting themselves via tools of mass communication such as websites or larger music labels.

Born Dead

Our Darkest Fears Now Haunt Us

Born/Dead is a dark, anarchist hardcore punk band that formed in late 2000 in Oakland, California with the rhythm Section, Bill Jackson and Wyatt Culbertson of the Long-time East Bay Punk band Chemical Imbalance and the guitarist from the short lived Santa Cruz, California band No Options. Born/Dead’s sound and lyrics are influenced by classic American Hardcore punk, UK peace punk and political Punk bands such as Crucifix and Aus-Rotten. In 2001 after mercilessly gigging in the San Francisco Bay Area, the band released their debut 5-song 7” EP “24 Hostages” as the first release on the Guitarists No Options record label which sold briskly leading the band to begin work on a full length record.

With initial tracks recorded, the band approached long time bay area crust and hardcore punk label, Prank Records who had released records by His Hero Is Gone, Guyana Punch Line, Antischism, Damad and others to do the record. The Nine-Song “Our Darkest Fears Now Haunt Us” was released in 2003 on LP/CD and featured a heavier sound than the debut. The LP’s release lead the band to its first major U.S. tour, followed quickly by a tour of Europe. Returning from Europe, the band recorded a side of a split LP with European tour mates Consume that was released on Germany’s Yellow Dog Records.

Revolting

Dreadful Pleasures album

REVOLTING is the new band from Rogga Johansson(Paganizer, Ribspreader) which is dedicated to the absolute worship of late 80’s Death Metal (Carnage, Grave) and HORROR/GORE films from the 1980’s!

Teaming up with Razorback Records, the label known for their obsession with oldschool metal and horror, the name REVOLTING was chosen by Billy “Grossera” Nocera to reflect the gross, nasty, gory, and insane horror films from the 80’s such as STREET TRASH, THE BLOB, REDNECK ZOMBIES, and other mutant gross-out fests that make life worth living!
